Review from our YELP page….

This is a review of George Barry and his brother at Jason Vineyards. George was part of the monthly Long Island Jazz on the Vine promotion. The Long Island Vineyards in an attempt to bolster attendance during the dreary winter months have live music to complement the various terrific wines available for tasting. This was our first time seeing George and it won’t be our last. He played terrific music ranging from …

Glen Campbell’s Wichita Lineman (my favorite of Glen’s) to America to Neil Young, Billy Joel and so on. He willingly solicited requests from the crowd, but I preferred to see what his choices would be and was not disappointed in any of his selections. He strategically placed plastic Easter egg shakers on the tops of the wine barrels (doubling as tables) to have the audience add a little percussion to their music. My wife and I met George personally during one of his breaks and got to chat about his history and some Beach Boy history and music. Terrific, personable guy. The mix of great music with terrific wines was an unbeatable combination. Check out his website www.GeorgeBarry.Net for his upcoming gigs.

Summers going too fast!!!!

Man, where does the time go?..seems it was just early 2017 and I was itching play out in the Sun..and now its like half over!!!! Foul, I cry!!!
Anyway, to be more positive..you people who come out have been great to Us, and we appreciate it. Hopefully you’ve noticed alot of new songs in the mix, and it’s always fun..playing something for the first time. Hint: your reception of new material has alot to do with wether we ever play the song again. Luckily, you folks are up for anything!!!!!!!
Anyway, we know soon the weather will give Us a few super hot days and then the long beautiful stretch into Harvest Time, out east. I am having a blast, I hope you are too!

Geeting some Beach Time!!

We’re not playing this weekend, we planned last year to take this weekend off and do “summer stuff”. It’s weird: I live on Long Island, and never get to the beach (!!!!!)….this summer is not gonna pass me by! Watch out, Jones Beach!

Some of my favorite bands (artists) IMHO

Its been haunting my mind to give full credit where it is due. I really love these artists and their work: it just always engages my attention and rewards it in the most satistfying way.

Wang Chung (Go back and re-listen to “To Live and Die in L.A”…..wow. I mean WOW!!!)

Ian LeFeuvre You probably never heard of him..but Give a listen to anything he did with Lynn Miles (especially the CD “Slightly Haunted”. His production and guitar skills inform the songs so much that …its impossible separate them. Fantastic!!!

Ty Tabor : The guitarist/singer/writer in the band KingsX. But his solo work exceeds most of what KingsX has put out (my opinion). The CDs “Balance” and “Rock Garden”..are great. Easily some of the most cohesive Rock in the last 25 years.

Rick Springfield: Yeah I went there. When he’s good ..he’s great. When he sucks….yeah…well you know, the deal. You try to be amazing for 50 years..It isn’t easy. But when he nails it…….it stays nailed (Try the CD “Shock/Denial/Acceptance/Anger”).

DaDa: They only got attention from radio in the early 1990s…but consistant great music. Great writing, recording, and performances….if there is a heaven, they are one of Gods Favorites, I think.

Of Course I LOVE The Beatles. That must be said. That never changes.

Rockin in Aruba!!!!

Had a few days off..and naturally I found myself ..somehow..making music. I felt blessed to be at the BugaLou Bar..a great beach bar on the Island of Aruba and made fast friends with the band and next thing I know …”Hey wanna do a few?”
…………………………………..IS THE POPE CATHOLIC?
So ‘natch a song later..there I go. Ellen was kind enough to film it all so you can see it for yourself over at Facebook.
It was a fun few days off and now I feel better than ever. Can’t wait to play THIS Saturday June 3rd at Jason’s at 1:30-5:30 and later at Phil’s in Wading River 9pm-12midnight.

Sat June 3rd 9-12pm Phil’s Restaraunt
